January 21 is Get to Know Your Customer Day and what better way to interact with your audience than asking them directly? My brand consists of inspiring others to be their most authentic self. I do this by offering encouragement and confidence, girl chat, relationship advice, humor and beauty + hair blog posts. Below are questions in regards to get to know your audience that explains a more detail process.
1. How Did You Find Me?
This is an important question, because I think it helps with knowing where did people find you? We have so many social media platforms that people could literally find you just from anything. Therefore, once you find out where your traffic is coming from, you can then find the best way to utilize it to your benefit. For example, my audience can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Google Ads, etc. I would love to know this information, because I can start to figure out what is working for my blog and what platforms are underperforming.
You can also find this out by looking at your analytics, but why not find it out from your audience! It is so much useful to hear from the customer’s point of view, because they simply could have found you from a post that was shared or from word of mouth.
2. Why Did You Choose My Blog?
A great question to ask is why did the customer choose your business? If they keep coming back to your page more than once, obviously it is something about it that interests them. Is it the content you post? The customer service you provide? Maybe they just love your overall aesthetic? We don’t know why, which makes this the perfect question.
3. Would You Recommend Me to a Friend?
Now you know people only gossip to other people when its something that sparks their interests. Whether it’s good or bad, people are going to talk. This will be a great way to find out if your audience will potentially refer your business to others. On the other hand, you’re able to obtain free advertising as this consist of word of mouth marketing.
4. Were you able to find everything you needed on our website?
We as business owners can be our own biggest critique. We feel the need to make sure everything is perfect. By asking customers if they were able to find what they needed on our website, it gives us a sense of relief if the answer is yes or the fear of doubt if the answer is no. Instead of worrying about what could wrong, here is your chance to seek out feedback!
Asking customers about their experience can provide you with the answers you’re looking for. We all can use the help to grow and find ways of improving our businesses. You never know what can come out of it and possibly lead you in a new direction.
I would love to hear feedback from you guys as well about my blog so I can better understand you as a person and your needs. Please use the questions above as reference to answer any that you think would be beneficial! I hope this post helped you prepare for your own business, hobbies or a work-related activity. 4 Ways to Get to Know Your Audience can be applicable in whatever ventures you choose to seek.
