I am back with another Curlbox Haul and this time it is My Black is Beautiful and I cannot get enough of their products! As y’all know, I’ve been on the search for products that work with my hair texture, which is type 4. Typically, just the basics like a nice shampoo and conditioner that cleanses the scalp and I think I finally found a good match. The Golden Milk collection is formulated with coconut milk, turmeric, honey and ginger. It says it is a healing line that cleanses the hair without stripping the hair of much-needed hydration. I received 5 full products + a special goodie that I can’t wait to share with you all!
MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL HYDRATING SHAMPOO
The shampoo increases moisture retention and restore split ends. It’s a lightweight shampoo that hydrates while it cleanses with plant extracts and spices like turmeric. It also comes in this cute bottle with a lid that dispenses out honey-milk like shampoo. Another thing I like is that it is so easy to control so less spills are likely to happen.
MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL FORTIFYING CONDITIONER
Following up with a conditioner, it is a must-have to have in your routine! This fortifying conditioner improves elasticity with honey and ginger, and seals frizzy, brittle ends with softening honey. I am in love with this conditioner, because it keeps my hair soft and is also perfect for co-washing! Personally, I don’t do too much with my hair anyways, but I love knowing that I already get definition from the fortifying conditioner. I choose to wear my natural hair out more during springtime and a part of summer so it helps a lot with frizziness and moisture.
MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL INTENSE RECOVERY TREATMENT
Don’t forger to incorporate a rich deep treatment into your regimen like the intense recovery treatment. This deeply penetrating treatment improves manageability with a nutrient-rich blend of invigorating ginger and frizz-fighting honey. It is also a strengthening formula that replenishes and repairs strands with weekly use. If you suffer from extreme dryness, this is perfect to use weekly. I typically use this in between co-washes if I am not using the conditioner. I typically wash my hair once a week or every two weeks and I like to coordinate co-washing in every other wash. Meaning, if I use shampoo and conditioner during a wash, then the next wash I am more likely to co-wash.
MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL TANGLE SLAYER TYPE 4 CONDITIONING CREME
The holy grail product of the My Black is Beautiful Golden Milk collection is the conditioning cream. I love using this product as soon as I get out the shower, because it hydrates, conditions and defines my curls. It is a lightweight product and my curls looks so great when I use this product on freshly washed hair. This one was made for type 4 textures in mind and this conditioning style cream detangles and defines curls for perfect twists, braids and/or finger-styles.
MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL EDGE SLAYER
To complete the look, I like to follow up with the edge slayer. The edge control conditions my edges to keep them healthy. The best thing about this is that it is flake-free and it really slicks, sleeks and smoothes the hair to have a flexible all-day hold.
As a bonus, they gifted every non-subscription box with a gaiter, which is a fabric to use as a face mask. Well… I use the gaiter as a scarf to cover and protect my curls for bedtime. 😂 My Black is Beautiful products works wonders for my specific hair texture and I am so happy to have discover these products. $25?!? I have been on my natural hair journey for over 6 years. I am still the same length i feel like which is kind of disappointing..I will most def look into these products for retention & length.

Look into trimming your ends too! It may seem like your cutting your hair off or “short” but trimming will definitely help grow your hair! I began to do that sometime last year and I have seen tremendous growth!

I love the packaging of this line!! Thanks for this review, I’ve been using Mielle pomegranate and honey which I love for my type 4 hair but I may have to try this when I run out!
