Feel the rain on your skin. No one else can feel it for you, only you can let it in.

It is that time of the year again as we are getting some sun and the temperature is rising. That means we have to adjust our skincare routine for this szn’. Just like makeup, it is important that we take care of our skin. Our skin needs to breathe and be introduce to healthy products. In this post, I want to share with you my summer skincare routine as I have oily skin. Keep on reading below to learn some tips on creating a skincare routine for summer!

Cleanser

Firstly, any makeup from last night should have been removed. This helps your skin prevent pores from clogging up which can create pimples and irritated skin.

I currently use either the Dove bar soap (unscented or green tea) or a face cleanser depending if I wore heavy makeup that day. My face is sensitive and over the years I found that dove soap works best for my face.

The face cleanser I use once or twice a week is a lemon scented coconut body wash, but I only use it for my face! I use this mostly during the summer time because it helps removes the dirt and oils from my face really well.

Another cleanser I use is BRTC Jasmine Waterful Foaming Cleanser. It removes almost all of my makeup easily and the formula exfoliates without stripping away my natural oils, while keeping my pores clean and my skin hydrated. I love this cleanser because it’s dermatologist-tested, non-drying, and gentle on my skin.

Moisturizer

If you have oily skin you may be thinking you don’t need this extra step to moisturize your face. Moisturizers are one of the most important parts of a skincare routine. It will not hurt you, in fact, it will actually help your skin. I use Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturizer as of now. I only use a pea size amount and it gets the job done!

That is all I have for you as my everyday skincare routine for oily skin! If I’m feeling up to it or feel that my face needs some extra love, I turn to masks. I signed up for these monthly subscriptions with Ipsy which provides subscribers with a makeup bag of five cosmetics samples. The products can include products from skincare items, perfumes, nails and makeup. This is where I receive different kinds of masks to try out from my glam bag.

Masks

The masks I use every now and then are clay masks and charcoal masks which are great for people who have oily skin. Below are a few I have used and loved!

The Feel Restored Warming Clay Mask is infused with white charcoal powder which warms up upon contact to open up pores and clear out all the gunk that’s hiding in them. It’s loaded with mineral-rich Nigiri sea salt to gently detoxify and exfoliate. It is also packed with vitamin E and hydrating hyaluronic acid to help your skin look plump, toned, and radiant. Best of all it is 100% vegan!

The Global Beauty Care Charcoal Wash Off Mask digs deep to gently remove dirt and grime without drying out your skin. I personally love this mask because I usually put it on once I get out the shower and walk around the house tidying up or scroll on my phone while I waste time for it to do its magic. 😂 It leaves my face feeling smooth and soft and clean!
