1. How Tall Are You?

I’m about 5’1 ft. I am a pretty, short girl and I’ve always been aware of it since 7th grade. I use to want to be taller in school because everyone around me was either average height or taller. When I look back to my reason of wanting to be taller, I don’t mind my height anymore. I actually love it. Being short has it perks too, we are FUN size 🙂

2. Do You Have A Hidden Talent? If So, What?

I want to say art, since I do not do much of it. I use to draw a lot back in grade school. Now, I like to canvas paint (paint & sips are my favorite) and crochet blankets in my spare time. I’m also really good at softball. I wish I continue with it after high school. Maybe I’ll get back into it sometime.

3. What’s Your Biggest Blog-Related Pet Peeve?

Since I’m new to blogging, I don’t have a blog-related pet peeve. One thing I will say is I hope to gain followers. Since I recently join Instagram, the follow-unfollow method would probably be a blog-related pet peeve. I would like to reach a certain number of sincere followers and I know that it comes with this niche of having people follow and unfollow you. All I’m really looking for is engagement from my audience.

4. What’s Your Biggest Non-Blog Related Pet Peeve?

My biggest non-blog related pet peeve is people who make promises they don’t keep. It is so hard nowadays for people to stick to their word. I dealt with this a lot growing up as kid and now as an adult. People who don’t follow through with what they say, sucks. It’s such a sucky feeling, because it feels as thought you aren’t appreciated. If you know you can’t commit to something, just let me know in the beginning. No worries, because it lets me know you tried or could no longer follow through.

5. What’s Your Favorite Song?

Anyone who knows me knows I love R&B music. From the 90’s to the early 2000’s. My favorite song is Can You Stand The Rain by New Edition. I L O V E this song. It is a must to be played in my future wedding lol. I especially love the different versions that artists have re-made to it as well, like Boys II Men and The New Edition Movie.

6. What’s Your Favorite Social Media Website?

Instagram. Like I state previously, I recently created an Instagram account, beginning of this year, 2019 and so far I actually like it. Even though I use Facebook more to keep in touch with friends and family, Instagram is more visually appealing to me. I can find inspiration and ideas for any new topic I want to discuss and videos to keep in the loop for anything I am doing… school, work, business, etc.

7. What’s Your Favorite Way To Spend Your Free Time?

I love spending my free time watching Netflix, Hulu, TV Shows & Movies. I can spend hours catching up on things I have missed, because I am so busy during the week with work and weekend with sorority stuff. Otherwise, I like to spend my free time either playing video-games or making plans with friends to catch up or finding new restaurants to try out.

8. What’s Your Favorite Junk Food?

Chocolate! Anything chocolate. Ice-cream, candy bars, box chocolate (caramel ones), cake, cupcakes and anything else, you name it! I am a chocolate fanatic. White chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate too. I don’t discriminate lol.

9. Do You Have A Pet Or Pets? If So, What Kind And What Are Their Names?

I have a Yorkshire Terrier that I love dearly. Her name is Diva and she lives up to her name wholeheartedly. My mom gave her to me as a Christmas present my senior year in high school. Sadly, I had to leave her back at home when I went to college and again once I graduated because my apartment does not accept dogs, only cats.

10. What’s Your Favorite Fiction And Non Fiction Books?

For fiction, I’d have to say the Divas book series by De’nesha Diamond and The Cartel Series by Ashley & JaQuavis Coleman. I remember searching my public library for something to read in high school and I came across these books. I rarely bought books because they were always free to read online or at the library, but after I read the first book to the Diva series, Hustlin’ Divas and The Cartel , I knew I had to purchase the next one. And the next one, and the next!

I don’t read many non-fiction books currently, but I’m starting to since many of my peers are authoring their own books which are great reads! I’ve picked up Sleepless Nights by Apollo Q and From the Girl to the Redefined Woman: Developing the Strength to Go from a Breakdown to a Breakthrough by Taylor B. Cohen. Next one I’m picking up is Scabs and Scars by Alea Cross. I’m looking into reading more self-help and business books so if you guys know any, comment below!

11. What Your Favorite Beauty Product Or Tool?

Eyeliner. I love wearing eyeliner because it brings my eyes to life. My eyes are naturally big so I feel like it balances it out sometimes lol. I also feel naked without wearing eyeliner and even though I do not put it on every day because of rushing or laziness in the mornings, it is one of my favorite beauty products to use.

12. When Were You Last Embarrassed? What Happened?

I usually can’t recall my embarrassments because I really just laugh and forget about it like it never happened. I’m not really big on focusing on it too much because everyone goes through it, but its how you make the best of it and learn from it. This may sounds like I’m avoiding the question, but I’m being totally honest. I honestly cannot recall.

13. If You Could Only Drink One Beverage (Besides Water) For The Rest Of Your Life, What Would It Be?

Sweet tea. No questions ask. I’ve cut down on drinking soda and sugary beverages by only buying water and using water filters for my home. Whenever I’m out, I always order water or sweet tea so this would be the only beverage I will consider thinking of drinking right off the bat.

14. What’s Your Favorite Movie?

This question always stumped me when I get ask. I don’t think I have a favorite movie. No favorites, I like them all.

15. What Was Your Favorite Lesson In School And Why?

Believe it or not, my favorite lesson in school was math. I love entering equations into the calculator or in my head and getting the correct number or solution. It was like a rush to me when I get the right answer or when my professor tells me good job. When I went to college, I was so over math and could not wait until the semester was over to be done with it.

16. If You Could Live Anywhere In The World, Where Would You Live?

Since I have not travel that much, especially out of the country, I’m going to say Texas because of the research I did. It turn out to be a great place for entrepreneurship, home ownership, cost of living, and raising a black family. I would love to visit Africa and France in my lifetime. One of my long term goals is to travel out of the country, so I can experience what its like living out of the States.

17. PC Or Mac?

I prefer PC only because of gaming! I loved playing my PC games like Nancy Drew and Sims on my PC laptop. But as a creative person, I would choose a Mac. Everything about Macs are designed so much easier for me because I own an iPhone and Macbook which complies with one another to be sync to my calendar or contacts and more! I want the best of both worlds with these two lol.

18. Last Romantic Gesture From A Crush, Date, Boy/Girlfriend, Spouse? (Or Kind Gesture From A Friend)

The guy I am currently dating is so sweet. He always asks if I eaten and checks on me regularly and ask me how was my day, which I love. These are all romantic gestures for me, but for Valentine’s Day, he surprised me with a Pandora bracelet. I was so shocked, because I’m not a materialistic person. But I was thankful for his gift even though he knows I appreciated what he does for me.

19. Favorite Celebrity?

Aaliyah and Ella Mai. I admired Aaliyah’s fashionable sense and vibes she instilled in herself. To me, she’s an icon. RIP baby girl. Ella Mai’s way of living speaks to me. Not only is she chill and laid back, her attitude is authentic. She’s being herself and that’s real.

20. What Blogger Do You Secretly Want To Be Best Friends With?

21. Who Is Your Biggest Inspiration?

My biggest inspiration is my sorority. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and it has been a blessing to be a part of this sisterhood. My sorors inspire me to better myself, not only professionally, but personally. There has been so many networking opportunities, contributing back to the community, and leadership opportunities that has inspire me to keep furthering my goals. Short-term and long term goals at that. I love my ZPhiB!

22. What Is Your Favourite Blog To Read?

I love to read MARKIZDJ blog because I am huge fan of R&B music and he always covers our black artists with the famous tag line: “Give Our Legends Their Flowers”. I am also on the hunt for topics in regards to black women in college, business owners, and career advancements as those topics relate to me.

23. What Is Your Favorite High Street Shop?

I had to look up High Street, since I don’t live in the UK. I’m more of an online shopper myself since I’m always on the go and rarely have time to stop in and shop somewhere. But since I launched my own online clothing boutique, my favorite main street shop (as US would say) is Just Be You Fashion.

24. Are You In Education Or Do You Work?

Currently, I am in education. I am a Program Assistant at a University and I am also a Coordinator and Clerk for a high school after school program. It’s a blessing that I have achieve both of these positions because it is a great way to network and move up in higher ed.

25. One Thing You Are Proud Of.

I’m honestly proud of launching my business Just Be You Fashion at just 23 years old. When I think about it, it’s still scares me that I am a business owner, but I am amaze that I did it all on my own. What started out as a hobby has grown to a dream to now a reality.

Thank you for reading this post. I enjoyed going through all the questions as they were a fun mixture about blogging and myself. I hope it helped you get to know me a bit better. Not only as a person, but as a blogger and business owner.
